Preparation
The first step is to remove the dental caries and/or the existing filling.
3D Scan
The CEREC measuring camera then takes a three dimensional photograph of your tooth.
Computer Design
The contours of the ceramic restoration are designed on the computer monitor.
On site milling
CEREC automatically mills the restoration out of a tooth-coloured ceramic block.
Characterisation
Porcelain stain is applied as appropriate and blended across the surface of the crown. A porcelain glaze is also incorporated to give the completed crown a smooth, natural feel.
Fit
Finally, the restoration is inserted into your tooth and polished. The finished ceramic restoration look sand feels exactly like natural dental enamel.
